Something I learned, that I never knew, was that the President is not allowed into the Capitol building unless he has been invited. This is due to the separation of powers.
What I enjoyed the most was the students. The students were absolutely wonderful. They were real troopers and did not complain about all of the walking and hustling we had to do. I am so glad they were able to have this experience.
My WOW moment was when I saw how beautiful Washington D.C. was from the top of the Washignton Monument! It was a funominal view! Definitely soemthing I will remember forever!! :)
Hey! I loved DC so much that I wrote a haiku about it. I really hope that we can visit again. When I live in Colorado (in 6th grade) I will DEFINTLY look at it next year and I hope they like as much as I did!
My WOW momment is when we went to the Lincon Memorial. It is SUPER huge in person. Never would of imagined it. I learned at the Capitol Building that in movies where it shows where the representitives meet, the directors or sombody goes in there and they have to memorize it and rebuid it somewhere else.
I was up at the top at washington monument and jenny creekmur.(brett mom.)took a picture at the white house and we saw barock obama. and when i got home i turned it on sportcenter, and it said fridays top plays and #10 was barock obama getting a jersey from the blackhawks!(hockey team)so we saw barock obama and the blackhawks.
